A Checklist for testing connection to a webserver.

Network check list:

  • Use the following command in a terminal :

test-netconnection Servername - port portnumber

This tells us internet protocol address, remote port, and tcp test results of the server we are trying to connect to.

  • Make sure your monitoring software is configured to monitor the status of the server.

  • Make sure the process your app uses are running.

  • Go to resource monitor on the web server , network, tcp connections,  and make sure your app’s process is currently listening on the appropriate port. You can also see how many connections it current has.
